GODAN, along with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD) are supporting a ‘Student Entrepreneurship Competition’ Hackathon in Sierra Leonne. The Hackathon focuses on two main themes: Climate change and agriculture, and the poultry industry, an area of great importance for the country. Competing teams will be developing tools that should allow farmers to capitalize on open data in order to maximize their enterprise results while mitigating negative impact of climate changes. Aapproximately 500 participants from Sierra Leon, the Diaspora, and neighboring countries are expected to take part in the event.
The involvement of GODAN in this important event demonstrates GODAN’s commitment towards Africa, and its support to the implementation of the Nairobi declaration.
