Farming by Satellite Prize 2020

Applications are now open for the Farming by Satellite Prize 2020. This year the competition theme is centred around the question: How can we use Satellite Technologies to improve Agriculture and reduce Environmental Impact?

The Prize seeks to reward young innovators exploring the use of satellite technologies to improve agriculture and reduce environmental impact. An initiative of the European GNSS Agency and the European Environment Agency, the Farming by Satellite Prize invites applicants to submit their ideas for a more sustainable, productive and efficient agriculture industry in Europe or Africa. Returning in 2020, the Special Africa Prize encourages young Africans to develop satellite-based solutions able to cater to the specific needs and resources of communities and lands in Africa.

The Farming by Satellite Prize is designed to encourage young professionals, farmers and students in Europe and Africa to create new, sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions using the Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo platforms.
