The GODAN Action project will have a strong presence at in Berlin between 19th and 23rd March as contributors to both the Research Data Alliance Eleventh Plenary (RDA P11) and Interest Group on Agricultural Data (IGAD) pre-meetings taking place that week. Monday 19th March 14:15 - 14:30: Presentation: Weather data standards assessed against the FAIR principles
Valeria Pesce of GFAR will present the findings of a recent GODAN Action gap analysis study on weather data standards under the lens of the FAIR principles.

Tuesday 20th March 9.30 – 13.00 (Room Leipzig, 1st): Discussion Group: Capacity Development
A particular focus of this session will be on sharing knowledge about training initiatives and technologies, reducing digital divides so that researchers and practitioners in developing countries can also benefit. GODAN Action will present an overview of the GODAN Action curriculum and invite discussion on its potential development and use by IGAD members.

Thursday, 22 March 15.30 - 17.00 Room A08: Panel: Supporting effective engagement with research & open data in the agriculture and nutrition. Lessons from IGAD & GODAN Action
This is a joint session organized by RDA/IGAD and GODAN (RDA affiliated member) to discuss lessons learnt and share experience from both communities on how to effectively support engagement with research data management and open data.
Although focused on capacity development in the agriculture and nutrition sector the session will also explore the extent to which these lessons might be relevant to those working to enhance the potential of open data in other sectors.
