AJEMALEBU SELF HELP (AJESH) is a Civil Society Organisation recognized under the law NO 90/053 of 19th December 1990 governing freedom of Associations in Cameroon. Founded on June 4, 2006 it was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a Common Initiative Group. The founding members then converted the by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation via Prefectoral Order as an Apolitical and non-profit Organization in Cameroon. As highlighted in the above, AJESH was created out of the felt need to contribute in reducing the impact of poverty by complimenting government’s struggles in combating poverty, enhancing forest governance and conservation of natural resources and habitats as well as promoting community health care. It is within this backdrop that in November 2007, AJESH was then reorganized to suit the structure that befits the struggle.
