Umoja wa wawezeshaji KIOO
Umoja wa wawezeshaji KIOO is a voluntary non-political, non-religious, and non-profit sharing organization that was found in 2001 and officially registered in 2004 under the Societies Ordinance of 1954 KIOO is envisioning in having a Tanzanian society where every individual is free from poverty, injustice and lives indignity. We believe that the poor people if empowered have potentials to lift themselves out of abject poverty. KIOO will ensure that the potentials of the poor and marginalized people are utilized to bring about sustainable development in the areas they belong. The organization mission is to promote and protect human rights of the poor and marginalized groups especially women and vulnerable children by improving sustainable community development in Kigoma region. Main objectives The objectives to which our organization is established are to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS, malaria and other pandemic disease; to promote and defend human rights; to raise public awareness on the hazards of drug abuse and life skills; to develop and support programs that create awareness and induce people to develop the culture of self-employment as means of eradicating poverty; to raise awareness on human rights and responsibility of the government (Good governance and accountability) and provision of vocational training to vulnerable groups in the community.
